Garrigus posts 36-hole clubhouse lead in AZ
Feb. 1, 2013 - 2:50 PM ET

With a pair of 5-under-par 66s, Robert Garrigus was the first to post a clubhouse lead at the midpoint of the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Garrigus has turned in nines of 32, 34, 34 and 32 to reach 10-under 142. His opening round included an eagle from nine yards off the green at the par-5 third hole as well as four birdies. Today's loop of TPC Scottsdale featured six birdies, including a zero-putt hole-out from five yards, also at the third. He also rolled in birdies from 17'10" and 12'4" at the 11th and fourth holes, respectively. Despite those theatrics, Garrigus needed respective par saves from 10'3" and 12 feet at the eighth and ninth holes -- his last two of the day -- to remain double digits under par.
