Cowboys say they will not trade CB Jenkins
Mike Jenkins - DB - Dallas Cowboys
May 23, 2012 - 3:00 PM ET

Coach Jason Garrett stated adamantly Wednesday that the Cowboys will not trade disgruntled CB Mike Jenkins.

We'll see. The Cowboys were open to doing a deal on draft weekend. They didn't get the compensation they wanted, but a cornerback-desperate team could come calling closer to or during training camp. Dallas' plan for Jenkins, for now, appears to be keeping him on the roster as a No. 4 corner despite his trade demand. In the current scenario, Jenkins would serve as depth in 2012, hit free agency in 2013, and net the Cowboys a compensatory draft pick in 2014.
