Brett Lawrie drops 4-game suspension appeal

Brett Lawrie has dropped his suspension appeal.
Lawrie will begin serving his four-game punishment on Thursday. He was given the sentence Wednesday for spiking his batting helmet at home plate umpire Bill Miller after back-to-back questionable strike calls Tuesday night. The 22-year-old is hitting .281/.325/.384 with three homers and 17 RBI in 157 plate appearances this year.
