The "new" USFL is set to kick off in March, with each of its eight teams playing a 14-game schedule.
The new league will basically be baseball's equivalent of the minor leagues. Hall of Fame WR Fred Biletnikoff was announced as a member of the advisory board, but a commissioner has not been announced. The league will consist of undrafted rookies and players released by NFL clubs. Among the cities expected to be considered for a team are Portland, San Jose, Salt Lake City, Sacramento, Memphis, Raleigh-Durham, Birmingham, Omaha, and Akron.
