Former Rams, Titans OG Bell retires at age 31
Jacob Bell - G - Cincinnati Bengals
May 9, 2012 - 1:40 AM ET

Bengals OG Jacob Bell announced his retirement from football.

A source tells Profootballtalk that Bell "simply lost the desire to play." The 31-year-old started 100-of-109 career games with the Titans and Rams before signing with the Bengals last month. With first-rounder Kevin Zeitler slated for a starting job, Bell was headed for a reserve role in Cincinnati. Bell's effectiveness fell off precipitously in St. Louis last season.
