Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said Monday that Kenley Jansen has replaced Javy Guerra as the team's closer.
Guerra holds a 16/5 K/BB ratio over 12 1/3 innings, but he's also blown three saves and sports a 5.84 ERA and 1.70 WHIP. Jansen can have control issues at times, but he boasts an utterly dominant 15.2 K/9 rate during his career and holds a 2.70 ERA and 0.96 WHIP to go along with a couple saves this season. He could very easily be one of the best closers in the league right away.
