Alex Gonzalez has torn ACL, done for season

Brewers assistant GM Gord Ash confirmed Monday that Alex Gonzalez (knee) is out for the rest of the season.
Gonzalez has been diagnosed with a torn ACL in his right knee and is expected to undergo surgery in about a week. The 35-year-old batted .259/.326/.457 with four home runs and 15 RBI in 89 plate appearances for the Brewers this season. Cesar Izturis is expected to fill in at shortstop unless the Brewers can find someone better.
