Collins: Bay won't be activated 'for awhile'
Jason Bay - OF - New York Mets
May 6, 2012 - 12:30 PM ET

Mets manager Terry Collins said Jason Bay (rib) is "still pretty sore when he laughs or coughs" and won't be activated from the disabled list "for awhile."

Bay has been on the DL for nearly two weeks with a non-displaced fracture of a rib on his left side, but he's yet to resume baseball-related activities and appears to be progressing slowly. It sounds like he'll probably wind up missing most, if not all, of May.
