The Rams had a higher receiver grade on A.J. Jenkins and Brian Quick than Michael Floyd entering last week's draft.
It sounds like they had a second-round grade on Floyd, though likely not because of his off-field history. St. Louis didn't back down from character concerns on draft day. It's believed the Rams had both Jenkins and Quick in the first round, and that Jenkins would have been the pick had he made it to No. 33. Instead, the 49ers made Jenkins a first-round pick and the Rams picked Quick, and he's expected to immediately step in as the club's No. 1 wideout.
