Andy Pettitte will make his next minor league start Sunday for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but general manager Brian Cashman indicated it might not be his final one.
"The very least, one more. I saw him at Trenton and he needed at least two, if not three," GM Brian Cashman said. "His next start was an extended spring [on Monday] and he got his pitch count up. That will be two starts from when I saw him. He's just building endurance, but he looked good." We have a feeling that Pettitte will be added to the Yanks rotation if Sunday's outing goes well, but it's obviously not a foregone conclusion. David Phelps, who presumably would lose his spot when Pettitte is ready, pitched decently Thursday in his first major league start.
