Yankees place Eric Chavez (concussion) on DL

Yankees placed INF Eric Chavez on the 7-day disabled list with a concussion.
Chavez suffered whiplash Wednesday when he dove for a ball down the line, but he didn't leave the game until he felt dizziness while hitting later in the same inning. He was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital for head and spine scans, but the official diagnosis is not yet known. Jayson Nix has replaced him on the active roster.
