The UFC’s 43-day drought between events will finally come to an end on Saturday afternoon when UFC on FUEL TV 2 goes down in Stockholm, Sweden.

Until then, here’s a look at the latest MMA notebook.

The update on the Alistair Overeem situation is that there is no update. The UFC has applied on his behalf for a license to fight on May 26 and it appears as though they'll wait to see what happens at Overeem's Nevada State Athletic Commission hearing on April 24 before proceeding.

Thiago Alves vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama and George Roops vs. Antonio Carvalho have been signed for UFC 149 on July 21.

FUEL TV general manager George Greenberg said on Tuesday that the network is targeting July, September and November for its next UFC on FUEL TV events.

Speaking of FUEL TV, the network is expected to air TUF: Brazil in June. The series is currently airing in North America on TUF.tv.

The UFC has signed Nova Uniao featherweight prospect Hacran Diaz (20-1-1). No word on his debut just yet.

Nick Diaz will meet Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion Braulio Estima in a 180-pound BJJ super-fight at the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo on May 12.

Rolles Gracie’s management team is in talks to have Gracie fight Fedor Emelianenko on June 21 in Russia.


The Bellator heavyweight title fight between champion Cole Konrad and Eric Prindle has been moved to May 25.

Top-ranked 115-pound female fighters Megumi Fujii and Jessica Aguilar will meet inside the Bellator cage on May 18.

Bobby Lashley will meet James Thompson at Super Fight League 3 on May 3 in New Delhi. Other fights announced for the card were: Trevor Prangley vs. Baga Agaev, Doug Marshall vs. Zelg Galesic, and Lena Ovchynnikova vs. Joanne Calderwood.
