Langley to 17-under and shares Sony Open lead
Jan. 12, 2013 - 10:55 PM ET

Scott Langley turned in a 5-under-par 32-33=65 in the third round of the Sony Open to join 36-hole leader Russell Henley in the lead at 17-under.

After opening with rounds of 62 and 66, the rookie never stepped off the gas. He circled seven birdies and handed two bogeys back to Waialae CC including a surprising three-putt on the par-4 14th. Having dropped 400 feet of putts through three rounds, it seemed like every time he pulled back the putter the ball would find the bottom of the cup. His 17-under tally is good for the 54-hole scoring record at this event. Joining Langley and Henley in the final pairing will be Tim Clark, who will certainly feel like third wheel as the rookies have played together every round.
