Dave Ferrell
Dave Ferrell, a third-generation Florida native, has fished all over the state, both inshore and offshore, and traveled the world’s oceans chasing billfish for Marlin magazine. “I’ve been lucky enough to fish and learn from some of the best captains and mates in the world, and I never tire of seeing any billfish trying to eat a lure, bait or teaser.” Dave came up in the ranks, starting as an assistant art director for SPORT FISHING in 1992.

After years of working for both SPORT FISHING and Marlin in different editorial positions, Dave was promoted to editor of Marlin in 2002.

Mike Mazur
Mike Mazur grew up fishing the small streams of rural Maryland but quickly developed a love of saltwater fishing — along with a deep passion for writing — after moving to the coastal waterways of Jupiter, Florida. Mazur began his outdoor-writing career at SPORT FISHING magazine as its managing editor and then went on to edit Fly Fishing in Salt Waters for several years. He is a member of the IGFA’s International Committee.

John Brownlee
John Brownlee has extensive experience as an angler, having served for 12 years as a senior editor at Salt Water Sportsman and later at SPORT FISHING and Marlin magazines. Brownlee took over Salt Water Sportsman in 2007 as editor-in-chief. Brownlee has fished throughout North and Central America and the Bahamas and is an accomplished light-tackle and big-game angler. He’s also a dedicated conservationist and currently serves as the chairman of The Billfish Foundation.

John Frazier
John Frazier started fishing at the age of 5, and once he picked up his first fly rod, there was no turning back. He is as passionate about fly-fishing as the editor, he is dedicated to providing the readers of Fly Fishing in Salt Waters with new and exciting technical information, as well as showcasing the lifestyle that comes along with the sport.
