Fertitta on dos Santos-Overeem, Velasquez-Mir, and more

UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta took to Twitter to interact with fans and break some news

UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta was battling a bad case of insomnia Thursday evening, so he took to Twitter to interact with fans. This resulted in Fertitta breaking a bunch of news.

Below is a look at some of the more interesting tidbits he dropped:

* It appears as though the highly anticipated UFC heavyweight title fight between champion Junior dos Santos and top contender Alistair Overeem will take place on Memorial Day weekend. The organization has yet to officially announce the fight, but it has been rumored for some time to take place on the May 26 card in Las Vegas, which is traditionally one of the UFC's signature events of the calendar year.

* The UFC is leaning toward booking a third fight between Tito Ortiz and Forrest Griffin. Ortiz beat Griffin via split decision at UFC 56, while Griffin got revenge in another close split decision at UFC 106. Fertitta didn't mention a date for the trilogy fight.

* It looks like former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez will return to action later this year against Frank Mir. Expect this fight to take place in May or June, and it could produce the next No. 1 contender.

* Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber III will most likely go down July 7 in Las Vegas.

* The upcoming TUF: Brazil series will air on UFC.com.

* Oh, and in the biggest news to come out of the exchange, Fertitta said he can bench 340 pounds.
