A source told ESPN's Jayson Stark that the Angels would trade Bobby Abreu for a "middling prospect."
There isn't going to be much playing time available to Abreu in Anaheim this year, especially with Kendrys Morales looking healthy in his early workouts. Which is why the Halos are prepared to move the 37-year-old outfielder and DH in a straight salary dump. Abreu is owed $9 million in 2012. He'll be a free agent in the fall.
