Mariners' minor league catcher Christian Carmichael was suspended 50 games for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug.
Carmichael, a sixth-round pick from 2010, tested positive for using Methylhexaneamine. The 19-year-old backstop has spent the past two seasons with the Mariners' rookie league team, batting .135/.224/.250 batting line over 59 plate appearances. He'll now get a late start on his 2012 campaign.
