Dodgers designate INF Mitchell for assignment

Dodgers designated INF Russell Mitchell for assignment.
The move presumably clears a spot for reliever Todd Coffey on the team's 40-man roster. Mitchell, who turns 27 later this month, batted .157/.259/.294 with two home runs and three RBI over 58 plate appearances with the Dodgers last season before undergoing wrist surgery in September. There's a chance he'll sneak through waivers unclaimed.
