Griffith retires, takes Raiders assistant job
Justin Griffith - RB - Houston Texans
Feb. 3, 2012 - 1:10 PM ET

Former Texans and Falcons FB Justin Griffith has retired from football and taken a quality control coach job with the Raiders.

Griffith, 32, got the job thanks to longtime pal Greg Knapp, under whom he played his entire career. Knapp is Oakland's new offensive coordinator. Griffith lasted seven seasons in the league, finding a niche as a versatile fullback in Knapp's zone-blocking offenses. He scored 13 career all-purpose touchdowns.
