Konerko eyes retirement in 1-2 years
Paul Konerko - 1B - Chicago White Sox
Feb. 2, 2012 - 11:20 PM ET

In an interview with CSNChicago.com, Paul Konerko stated that he's considering retiring after the 2012 or 2013 seasons.

"I would see it ending after next year or maybe another year," Konerko said. "At some point you got to go home and be around your kids and have other things to do." He also expressed frustration playing for a team that has been "back at square one" for several years. Konerko led Pale Hose regulars in batting average, homers, RBI, and walks in 2011. The team might have to become a serious title contender soon if they want to keep their stud hitter in tow.
