Anthony Kim will enter 2013 on a Major Medical Extension.
AK's disappointing 2012 season was cut short in July when he injured the Achilles tendon in his left leg while sprinting. He was already shelved with problems in his left forearm and right elbow, but he required surgery on his leg. The prognosis called for 9-12 months of recovery, so the window opens for a return as early as March 2013. However, with a compressed schedule, don't be surprised if Kim takes his time to resume competing. Whenever he does, he'll have 16 starts on the medical to earn $613,550 and retain status.
