NEW YORK - Commissioner Bud Selig says he expects baseball to expand its playoffs this season.
Selig spoke Friday night at a fan festival for the Chicago White Sox.
Baseball intends to add an additional wild-card team in each league. Selig says there still scheduling issues to be worked out but once they are, the new 10-team format would begin with a one-game playoff.
With Stephen Strasburg anchoring a strong rotation and super-prospect Bryce Harper on the way, the Washington Nationals are drawing a lot of attention.
CSN: Nationals phenom says he's OK if the team wants to start him in the minors this season, but he's planning to make their decision as difficult as possible.
