Two more fights have been added to Strikeforce's next card in Columbus, Ohio.
Mike Kyle will meet Gegard Mousasi in light heavyweight action, while Conor Heun will face Ryan Couture in lightweight action, according to MMAFighting.com's Mike Chiappetta. The Kyle-Mousasi tilt is expected to serve as the co-main event on the card, which will be headlined by Miesha Tate vs. Ronda Rousey for the Strikeforce bantamweight title.
Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey takes place March 3 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus. The undercard will air live on Showtime Extreme, while the main card will air live on Showtime.
Mousasi (32-3-2) got back on the winning track in Strikeforce when he defeated Ovince St. Preux via unanimous decision in December. Meanwhile, Kyle (19-8-1) defeated Marcos Rogerio de Lima via unanimous decision in Strikeforce last September. The pair was scheduled to meet in 2011 but injuries delayed the fight.
The fight against Heun presents the toughest challenge of Couture's young career. Couture, the son of UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture, is 3-1 thus far in his professional MMA career; however, he has never fought someone with the same credentials as Heun. Heun (9-4) snapped a two-fight losing streak in June when he defeated Magno Almeida via unanimous decision.
Junior Dos Santos flattened Frank Mir with a huge right hand and finished him on the ground at 3:04 of the second round Saturday night, emphatically defending his heavyweight title at UFC 146 on Saturday night.
