Si-woo Kim, 17, ultimate exception in 2013
Dec. 4, 2012 - 10:40 AM ET

Si-woo Kim closed out the final stage of Q School with a 4-under-par 68 at PGA West's Stadium Course to earn a PGA TOUR card in 2013.

The South Korean climbed from outside the top-25 bubble (at T30) to finish T20 at 18-under 414. He was all over the headlines throughout the six-round event because he's only 17 years old. PGA TOUR members must be 18, an age Kim won't reach until June 25. As a result, the 2013 rookie will be treated as a non-member until then, but with several exceptions. His earnings and FedExCup points will be unofficial until his birthday. More importantly, because his earnings are unofficial, as of right now, any prize money banked before his birthday will not contribute to his total used in the graduate reshuffle. (The Player Advisory Council may amend this provision.) For the full array of how Kim's youth is impacted by the various rules and regulation, click on the link below.
