  • CWS Center Fielder #88
The plan appears to be for Robert to get a couple games in this week out in Arizona before heading out on an official minor league rehab assignment next week. The 26-year-old fantasy superstar has been on the shelf since early April due to a Grade 2 hip flexor strain that was expected to keep him sidelined for at least 6-8 weeks. Barring any setbacks, he should return at some point in early June.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #28
The writing was seemingly on the wall after Hendricks was torched for eight runs (seven earned) over 4 2/3 innings on Friday against the Pirates. The soft-tossing 34-year-old righty has struggled mightily this season to a disastrous 10.57 ERA, 1.99 WHIP and 25/11 K/BB ratio across 30 2/3 innings (seven starts). He’ll presumably operate in mop-up duty until further notice with either Ben Brown or Hayden Wesneski likely moving into Chicago’s rotation until Jordan Wicks is ready to return from the injured list.
  • ATL Third Baseman #27
No surprise here as Riley will miss his eighth straight contest due to an ongoing side issue after sitting out both contests of Monday’s doubleheader. There’s been zero indication that he’ll wind up requiring a trip to the injured list, despite the fact that he’s yet to resume swinging a bat. It’s a frustrating situation for fantasy managers, but it doesn’t sound like the Braves are going to make a roster move at this juncture. It’ll be Zack Short drawing another start at the keystone on Tuesday night at Wrigley Field.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #45
Cole told reporters afterwards that he came out of facing hitters for the first time since landing on the injured list back in spring training without any issues. The 33-year-old fantasy ace added that he wouldn’t rule out a potential return at some point next month. He’ll presumably face hitters a couple more times before heading out for a handful of minor league rehab starts to build up his pitch count and stamina.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #44
Musgrove returns from a two-week stint on the injured list due to triceps tendinitis to take the ball for Tuesday’s series opener against the Reds. The 31-year-old righty has compiled a lackluster 6.37 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 36/13 K/BB ratio across 41 innings (eight starts) prior to hitting the shelf.
  • SD Shortstop #2
Bogaerts was forced to leave Monday’s game against Atlanta with injury, and he’s been diagnosed with shoulder inflammation. The 31-year-old will miss at least one more game, and he should be considered day-to-day at this point.
  • WAS Center Fielder #28
Thomas has been on the injured list since near the end of April due to a sprained left MCL. The outfielder will likely need a week or so of rehab appearances, but then could return to the Washington lineup near the end of May. Thomas got off to a slow start prior to the injury, but was a solid fantasy option in 2023.
  • BOS Third Baseman #11
Devers set a franchise record by homering for the sixth consecutive contest when he took Rays starter Taj Bradley deep for a two-run homer to left field in the fourth inning. It was his 10th round-tripper of the season. The 27-year-old fantasy stalwart got off to a frosty start at the dish this season as he dealt with lingering shoulder and knee issues, but he’s certainly heated up lately with arguably the hottest stretch of his career, batting .286 (20-for-70) with seven homers in 18 contests since the start of May.
  • TB Starting Pitcher #45
Bradley was burned by the long ball in this one as two-run homers by Rafael Devers and Ceddanne Rafaela in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively, accounted for nearly all of the damage against him. The 23-year-old former top prospect generated an eye-popping 22 swinging strikes and finished with a near-elite 36 percent CSW. He’ll bring a 4.00 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 23/3 K/BB ratio across 18 innings (three starts) into a home matchup on Sunday against the Royals. He should be rostered in all fantasy leagues at this juncture.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #11
The 37-year-old right-hander gave up just two hits on the evening while allowing one base on balls. Only once did the Braves put a man in scoring position against him, and that was on Marcell Ozuna’s two-out double in the opening inning. He finished his night by retiring the final 13 hitters that he faced in order. Darvish got 14 swings and misses on 99 pitches on the night, posting a strong CSW of 34 percent. He now boasts a 2.08 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and a 46/13 K/BB ratio over 47 2/3 innings through his first nine starts on the season. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling when he does battle against the Yankees on Friday.
