SI.com's Jon Heyman reports that the Astros turned down a proposal from the Phillies that would have sent prospects Jonathan Singleton and Jarred Cosart, as well as a third piece to Houston in exchange for Hunter Pence.
Heyman thinks the 'Stros turning down that offer means they're unlikely to deal the outfielder and will instead focus on trading Wandy Rodriguez, Brett Myers and Michael Bourn. He's probably right. Given the scarcity of pitchers available via trade, they might be able to get decent packages for both starters even though they have unfavorable contracts.
