Davis looks for first win; co-leads Travelers
June 23, 2012 - 8:50 PM ET

Brian Davis signed for a 6-under-par 29-35=64 in the third round of the Travelers Championship to take the lead in the clubhouse at 12-under 67-67-64=198.

Davis had the course buzzing with the possibility of a 59 when he turned in 29 but was unable to post the necessary 30 on the back. In all, he circled seven birdies with his lone bogey surprisingly coming at the par-5 13th. He hit 12 (of 14) fairways and 16 GIR while putting to a 1.625 average. The Englishman has come close to winning on the PGA TOUR, but will try and taste victory for the first time on Sunday at the TPC River Highlands.
