According to Bob Klapisch of the Bergen Record, the Yankees have ruled out Carlos Beltran.
The Yanks made contact with the Mets at some point in the last couple of weeks, but ultimately decided that the 34-year-old outfielder was "not a fit," writes Klapisch. Beltran has drawn serious interest this month from the Phillies, Giants, Pirates Tigers and Braves. He's likely to net the Metropolitans a decent crop of young talent.
