Burrows, Hansen to participate in worlds
Jannik Hansen - W - Vancouver Canucks
May 1, 2012 - 8:55 AM ET

The Vancouver Canucks will have only two players taking part in the world hockey championships.

Alex Burrows joined Team Canada on Monday and Jannik Hansen will play for Denmark. Ryan Kesler received an invitation to play for the United States, but declined because of a shoulder injury, while Henrik and Daniel Sedin turned down invites to play for Sweden. Pittsburgh, with one (Evgeni Malkin), is the only team that has fewer players than Vancouver participating. "It's always an honor to be allowed to represent your country," Hansen said. "It's an important tournament for us (Denmark) going forward in terms of rankings for the Olympics in Russia and so on. But again, getting a chance to play in your national team colors is always a nice thing."
