Jonas Valanciunas scored 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting with six rebounds and one block over just 17 minutes in Friday's overtime loss to the Lakers.
Beat writer Ryan Wolstat openly questions Dwane Casey's decision not to play JV, calling him the team's fourth best player. He has a point, as Casey turned to Aaron Gray last night and Kobe Bryant ate him alive in the pick-and-roll and in general. With Andrea Bargnani leaving the game due to the same elbow injury that kept him out, it could be a turning point for the rookie, but that's all speculation with Casey clearly not ready to let him loose.
