Zito lands on DL for first time in career

Giants placed LHP Barry Zito on the 15-day disabled list with a mid-foot sprain.
And a mighty impressive streak comes to an end, as it's the first time in his 12-year MLB career that he's needed a trip to the DL. Zito suffered the injury during his start Saturday and had to be removed after throwing one warm-up pitch. It's not clear at this point how long he'll be sidelined. Ryan Vogelsong has been summoned from Triple-A and will replace him in the rotation.
