Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak strongly denied a CBS Sports report that he's talking to the Celtics about a Dwight Howard for Rajon Rondo swap.
"I haven't talked to [Celtics GM] Danny Ainge in weeks," Kupchak said. "I made the statement a week or two ago that we're not going to trade Dwight Howard and that hasn't changed." We're inclined to believe Kupchak on this one. The Lakers haven't wavered from their position that they want to re-sign Howard this summer and trading big for small -- especially when that small is coming off ACL surgery -- is almost always a bad idea.
