James Harden suffered a sprained ankle Tuesday, to go along with a sore knee, and has already been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Clippers, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo!.
However, beat writer Jonathan Feigen reports that Harden said after the game he still hopes to play on Wednesday. Harden returned after stepping on David Lee's foot Tuesday as the Rockets beat the Warriors, and finished with 27 points, seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and two 3-pointers on 7-of-22 shooting in 39 minutes. He could barely walk when the injury happened, but got re-taped and played through it. It was already swollen after the game and we all seem to be in agreement that he's not likely to play Wednesday, while he'll target the All-Star Game (in Houston) for a return. Plan on benching him Wednesday, but check back for updates just in case the plan changes closer to game time, as Harden clearly doesn't want to be in street clothes tonight. Carlos Delfino is a candidate to start if he's out.
