Matt Moulson notched two goals and added an assist in New York's 5-1 triumph over Detroit on Tuesday.
His 19th marker of the season opened the scoring in the first period, on a Islanders' power play, and his 20th was the final tally of the contest late in the third frame. Moulson now has 36 points in 40 games. John Tavares posted a three-point effort as well with a goal and two assists, while earning five shots and a plus-3 rating. Defenseman Mark Streit concluded the match with three helpers.
