The chances of Paul Pierce being traded are "highly remote," according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
Without Rajon Rondo (knee), the Celtics need someone to run the offense through, a role we've seen Pierce thrive in previously. Since Rondo's injury, Pierce is averaging 15.7 points, 11.3 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.0 steals, much to the delight of his fantasy owners. The Celtics have flirted with dealing Pierce previously, but the team simply won't get equal return for its captain and Pierce's presence is vital on a team that has lost Rondo for the season.
