Ryan Whitney will require ankle surgery

The Edmonton Oilers have confirmed that Ryan Whitney (ankle) will require surgery.
Whitney has a dislocated tendon in his right ankle. Oilers GM Steve Tambellini said that the team won't have a time frame for Whitney until doctors determine how much needs to be repaired. "All we know is it's going to be a good amount of time," Tambellini said. We'll keep you posted.
