Report: Raptors pushing for Rudy Gay trade
Rudy Gay - F - Memphis Grizzlies
Jan. 29, 2013 - 8:40 AM ET

The Raptors are "engaged in active trade discussions" with the Grizzlies to potentially acquire Rudy Gay, sources told ESPN.

Gay's name won't stay out of trade rumors despite Memphis making a smaller deal to shed some payroll just a short time ago. The Raptors have been after Gay for some time, and according to the report, Toronto is prepared to build a package around Jose Calderon and Ed Davis if they can also acquire Darrell Arthur from Memphis. It's worth noting that the Celtics also expressed "exploratory interest" in Gay, but with Rajon Rondo now out for the season, it doesn't appear those talks will formulate into anything of substance.
