According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, the Braves and Dan Uggla have avoided arbitration by agreeing to a five-year, $62 million contract extension.
Uggla turned down a four-year, $48 million extension before the Marlins traded him to the Braves in November, so he ended up doing pretty well to stick to his guns. In fact, he'll now have the highest annual salary for a second baseman ever. Though Uggla isn't a solid defender at the second base position, he has tallied 154 home runs over his first five seasons in the big leagues.
