CarGo, Rockies nearing seven-year extension

Carlos Gonzalez's representatives have confirmed that the outfielder will take a pre-extension physical this week in Colorado.
The Rockies are close to inking the do-it-all outfielder to a contract extension that is thought to be worth around $80 million over seven seasons. It should prove to be a fantastic move for Colorado if Gonzalez continues on his current path toward greatness. The 25-year-old posted a 974 OPS, 34 home runs and 117 RBI last season while earning a Gold Glove in the outfield.
