Jimmy Butler started at SF on Saturday, replacing Luol Deng (hamstring), and he responded with a career-high 18 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals in 48 minutes.
Butler did a good job checking Rudy Gay (6-of-19 FGs) and he even gave the Bulls some easy points, hitting 8-of-8 free throws in an eventual loss in OT. Tom Thibodeau ran with his most effective players tonight, but Butler has given us no reason to expect sustained value, especially with Deng day-to-day.
