David Stern said Thursday the NBA has been in contact with Chris Hansen's Seattle group but the league hasn't been presented with any agreement to buy or sell the Kings at this point.
Stern also said he welcomed the request by Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson to sit down with the league and said the city has been "particularly supportive of the NBA." This falls in line with what Rotoworld's Aaron Bruski has been reporting; there is no imminent deal to sell the Kings to a Seattle-based group led by Hansen. Stern has opened the door for Sacramento to present a matching offer, and Bruski's sources are confident that the city is on target to meet or beat Seattle's offer as it relates to the Maloofs' bottom line.
