Bay Area investor Mark Mastrov says he's been in touch with the Maloof brothers about buying the Kings and keeping them in Sacramento.
Mastrov lost out on buying the Warriors two years ago. The Maloofs are reportedly negotiating with the Hansen-Balmer led Seattle group, although talk of a deal being done seems to have cooled. Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson is openly trying to put together a package that would match whatever the Maloofs would get from the Seattle group, although it remains to be seen if Mastrov will be part of that group.
