Wes Matthews has strained ligaments in his thumb and admitted that the injury is "painful."
Matthews hit just 2-of-10 shots on Wednesday and the thumb is clearly impacting his shot. Owners have to hope that this injury doesn't linger, but if it continues to limit his ability to perform on the court, the Blazers may be forced to sit him to allow the thumb to heal. He hasn't said he plans to take time off, but the injury isn't going to get better by him continuing to play through it.
