Report: A. Kim (Achilles) out '9-12 months'
July 18, 2012 - 8:55 PM ET

Anthony Kim will be out of action for as much as an additional year due to an injury to his Achilles, according to Steve Elling on Twitter.

Elling wrote: "IMG confirms that former Ryder Cup star Anthony Kim blew out left Achilles training, has had surgery, and will be sidelined 9-12 months." GolfChannel.com's Ryan Ballengee later tweeted that the golfer had surgery on June 30. AK was already on the mend for injuries in his right elbow and left forearm. Given today's news, even leagues in which dropping AK would offer a tasty morsel for your competition to protect entering 2013 can do so comfortably without concern. Kim would likely fly through waivers. SECOND UPDATE: PGATOUR.com added that Kim injured the Achilles tendon in his left leg while sprinting in San Diego. He will wear a boot for four months.
