Marc Leishman posted an 8-under-par 30-32=62 in the final round of Travelers Championship and waited for over two hours to see who would best that mark until he was the last man standing, earning his first PGA TOUR title at 14-under 68-66-70-62=266.
The Aussie navigated TPC River Highlands without a blemish, as he circled eight birdies with the rest pars. He jumped out to a quick start, making birdies on five of his first eight holes. He then added back-to-back birdies on the 13th and 14th before failing to birdie the drivable par-4 15th. He added a final birdie from 16'10" on the 17th before settling for par on the last. He split 12 (of 14) fairways and landed 14 GIR while needing just 24 putts to the tune of a 1.429 average. With this victory, he is now eligible for the WGC-Bridgestone and the PGA Championship. He now heads to Congressional where he will compete in the AT&T National.
