Fujimoto & B. Jones are headed to the British
June 24, 2012 - 12:05 PM ET

By virtue of placing as the top two golfers on the Japan Golf Tour Organization's money list not already exempt into the British Open, Yoshinori Fujimoto and Brendan Jones have qualified for the major.

Fujimoto has enjoyed a sterling season, winning once (to earn a berth into the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational) and posting three other top-seven finishes. He's currently second in earnings through the conclusion of this weekend's Mizuno Open. Hiroyuki Fujita sits atop the money list but he's already exempt into the field at Royal Lytham & St. Annes, as is Toru Taniguchi who ranks third. Australia's Jones won the season-opening event on the JGTO, and then chased it with three top 10s among six paydays in as many starts. Fujimoto will be making his debut in a major next month while Jones has already logged two starts in the British.
