Manny Ramirez told Enrique Rojas of ESPNDeportes.com that he underwent hernia surgery two weeks ago.

Ramirez told Rojas that he had discomfort in his groin for most of the season, but waited until the year was over to have surgery. Limited to just 90 games this season, the 38-year-old outfielder batted .298/.409/.460 with nine home runs and 42 RBI in 265 at-bats between the Dodgers and White Sox. The impending free agent told Rojas that he believes that playing as a DH in the American League could help extend his career. He even expressed an interest in joining Blue Jays manager (and former Red Sox pitching coach) John Farrell in Toronto.
