Dustin Johnson signed for a final-round 4-under-par 33-33=66 to claim his sixth PGA TOUR title, and first since The Barclays in 2011, by a stroke over John Merrick at the FedEx St. Jude Classic.
Johnson was steady all day, circling five birdies to a lone bogey. While other contenders found trouble off the 18th tee, he split the fairway and landed the green for an easy two-putt par. He found eight (of 14) fairways and 14 GIR, while rolling the rock to a 1.643 putting average. For the week, his irons led the way with a 69.4 percent GIR clip at TPC Southwind. DJ finished the week at 9-under 70-68-67-66=271. He now heads to Olympic Club for the U.S. Open.
