S. Ott admits it's tough to see Sabres sell
Steve Ott - W - Buffalo Sabres
April 5, 2013 - 2:20 PM ET

Steve Ott admitted that it was tough seeing his team trade away Jason Pominville, Robyn Regehr and Jordan Leopold.

Ott had hoped the Sabres would be a buyer, but with the Sabres' chances of making the playoffs bleak, they obviously went in a different direction. "What Jason has done for the Buffalo Sabres over the last 10 years or so is unbelievable," Ott said. He's a heckuva player. It's not easy to replace a guy like that. It takes years to build a prospect into a Jason Pominville. It's disheartening in the fact that our team obviously wasn't playing up to where it needs to be." With Pominville gone, there's been talk that Ott might become the new team captain, but Ott said the job is "definitely not even on my radar."
