Mark Streit is unlikely to be traded despite failing to agree to terms on a contract extension with the New York Islanders, Newsday's Arthur Staple reports.
There had been thought that Streit could be the odd man out once Lubomir Visnovsky re-signed, but Staple reports that's "highly unlikely." That said, it's always possible there's a team desperate for an offensive defenseman willing to blow the Islanders away with a trade offer. We'll just have to wait until tomorrow's deadline passes to see what happens.
